The Pegasus Nursery manager and her staff are highly qualified, motivated and experienced in Early Years and are dedicated to providing a happy, friendly and quality environment for the children. They provide an appropriate and structured learning programme which creates opportunities for the children to explore and experiment, with a strong emphasis on learning through play.

The children have access to an extensive selection of toys, books, sand and water, writing and drawing materials, computer and musical instruments.

Each term we plan a central theme, such as, “In the Woods” and “Travel and Transport”. The Children are encouraged to move freely around the wide range of activities both inside & outside. Each day also includes time together, in large and small groups, to enjoy singing and dancing, share their news, listen to stories, participate in structured games and, enjoy a hot lunch.

We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and we accept Early Years Nursery Grants for 3 - 5 years olds.  Funding is also available for children aged 2-3 years if you meet any of the specified criteria.  Please speak to a member of staff if you think this funding may be of help to you.

The Kids Club is available after school during term time from 3;10pm until 6:00pm. It is run by a team of qualified staff; the atmosphere is relaxed, yet fun. The club provides a well equipped, safe and stimulating environment plus outdoor activities or even do their environment for the children to socialise, take part in homework! The play programme is varied and includes some specific themes such as sports, cooking, arts and crafts, and stories. The children are able to decide whether or not to participate or initiate their own activity. This Club is designed to be ‘Parent friendly’ and to fit in with your life style.  A nutritious tea is also available (at an additional cost of £2.50).

In the Holidays not only do we provide an excellent service for working families, we also enable you to have a well earned break from family duties. We provide a broad variety of fun and stimulating activities and workshops often based around a theme ‘pirates’ activities may include crafts and art, cooking, drama, music, sports and many more. This service is for children aged 3 to 12 years. Our sessions are flexible between 8:30am to 4:30pm, although we do ask for firm reservations to help us plan ahead.

We hold a chatter group once monthly.  Parents/ carers are welcome to join staff to discuss any issues they might have with their child at home e.g toilet training, sleeping / eating patterns.  This is an informal chat held by experienced staff who are always happy to listen and offer support.

We have recently had our main fundraiser- Rachel Green cookery demonstration which raised a much needed funds for Pegasus.  All money raised during fundraising goes towards new equipment for Nursery and Kids Club.  We have had our open day which raised a great amount of money whilst giving prospective parents/ carers and children the chance to look around and meet staff.

We have strong relationships with the village, often walking to the post office and having a visit to the local park.

The local P.C.S.O has been to see the Nursery children.  We learnt about stranger danger and road safety.  We have since provided children with the road safety equipment to use whilst playing outdoors on their bikes, trikes and scooters.
